Due to U.S. Coast Guard regulations, we are able to take out a maximum of 6 passengers on our boat tours. No exceptions. Please note that children, no matter their age, count as a passenger.
No. This a private boat tour for up to 6 people in your group.
No. Because our tours are "seaside" tours, they depart from the village of Oyster, which is only 15 minutes from Cape Charles. Click here for directions.
Yes. Children 4 years and older are permitted if accompanied by an adult. Please note that all children 12 and under are required, by law, to wear a personal flotation device (aka life jacket). Eastern Shore Boat Tours, LLC will provide life jackets.
This will largely be weather dependent, but layers are always best. In the summer the sun can be quite intense while on the water so we always suggest a long-sleeve sun shirt, hat and sunglasses. On cooler days or evenings we recommend a sweatshirt or windbreaker since temperatures can be much cooler on the water. In the fall/winter/spring layers become even more important. We suggest warm base layers along with a jacket or wind breaker…this will help considerably since we are on an open air boat. It’s better to have more layers than you need since you can always remove a layer if you get too warm!
Because we are on a boat, don't bring anything that you are not willing to get wet. Additionally, there is not a lot of extra storage space on the boat, so please limit what you bring. With that being said, you really don't need to bring much with you other than sunblock, sunglasses, a hat, camera and drinks/snacks. If you bring drinks/snacks, please do not bring glass containers or glasses. Also, please do not bring snacks like Cheetos or Doritos; while tasty, the orange color causes stains on our boat cushions that are not removable.
Sorry, we can not accommodate dogs or other pets on our tours.
Your tour will take place on a 2021 KenCraft Bayrider 2260FS, a shallow draft boat that allows us to explore the shallow waters around the barrier islands. This boat is perfectly designed for tours since all guests can sit together in the front with unimpeded views. Our boat has a T-top for shade, state-of-the-art navigation equipment, and all safety gear required by the U.S. Coast Guard.
All of our bookings are handled by Fare Harbor, the world's largest tour and activity booking company. Once you make a reservation for your private boat tour, you will receive an email from captainpete@easternshoreboattour.com.
All passengers are required to sign a waiver. A link to the waiver is included in the confirmation email. The person booking the tour should forward this link to all participants.
Safety is our priority so there may be times that we need to cancel or reschedule due to weather or wind. When you make reservations, please provide the best phone number (i.e. cell phone) to reach you on the day of the boat tour if we need to call you about the weather.
Customers will receive a full refund or credit with 24 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. No-shows will be charged the full price.
